This month we are pleased to welcome Laura Delano. \nAbout Laura Delano\nLaura Delano is a writer\, speaker\, and consultant\, and the founder of Inner Compass Initiative\, a charitable organization that she founded to help people make informed choices about psychiatric diagnoses\, drugs\, and drug withdrawal. She is a leading voice in the international movement to offer patients an alternative to the medicalized\, professionalized mental health industry. \nAbout the Talk\nLaura’s new memoir\, Unshrunk\, recounts her harrowing 14-year relationship to the American mental health industry\, weaving in research into the medications she was prescribed and the history of modern psychiatry. Laura will share some of her story\, how her book has been received by the media and psychiatry\, and what she senses shifting in the public discourse around psychiatric drugs and diagnoses. Unshrunk has received much attention\, including recent interviews and appearances on Tucker Carlson\, CNN\, Epoch Times\, BBC\, New York Times and more. \nVenue\, Location & Parking\nRocco’s\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington.
