DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILPostponed to December 8 because of snow storm!\nRocco’s Restaurant and Bar\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington\, MA \nTuesday\, December 2 (now Monday\, December 8)\n5:30pm – 9:00pm\nWilmington\, MA\n$50 \nPlease join us for an evening of lively conversation\, intriguing speakers\, and fun!  This month we are pleased to welcome Dr. Adam Urato. \nAbout Dr. Urato\nAdam is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist in his hometown of Framingham\, Massachusetts where has an active clinical practice taking care of high-risk pregnancies and delivering babies. He writes and lectures on medication exposures in pregnancy. Adam has taken a leading role in opposing ineffective drugs and harmful approaches to care in pregnancy including opposing Makena (an ineffective preterm birth drug which the FDA pulled off the market in 2023). He is currently petitioning the FDA to add a boxed warning to SSRIs regarding pregnancy risks. Adam is a strong supporter of freedom of speech and informed consent. \nAbout the Talk\nHow is it that pregnant women and the public routinely get treated with medications & vaccinations that turn out to be more harmful and less effective than originally thought?  This talk explores how the regulation and information systems in the US have failed\, what patients and the public can do to protect themselves\, and what changes are needed. \n  \nVenue\, Location & Parking\nRocco’s\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington. DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILDecember 8\, 6:30PM – 9:30PM\nWe are thrilled to announce the next meeting of the Brownstone Midwest Supper Club on Monday\, December 8\, featuring Green Acres Village’s Ann Kreilkamp.\n“Growing Communities from the Ground Up: Green Acres Village – A Template for the Transformation of Suburban America” \nAbout the talk:\nAnn Kreilkamp will share the remarkable journey of creating Green Acres Village\, a thriving community nestled in the heart of suburban Bloomington. Ann will walk us through how she conceived and built this unique neighborhood\, where three homes with gardens\, a shared compost area\, greenhouse\, chicken coop\, patio\, and community stage come together as a living laboratory for intentional\, regenerative living. \nAnn calls her approach “emergent design”—a philosophy of making decisions “one after another\, little by little\,” allowing each choice to organically reveal the next step. Ann’s story reveals how these small\, deliberate actions can create transformational change\, build real community and have profound impact not just in our homes and neighborhoods\, but in our individual lives and our relationship with the earth. \nCome ready for inspiration as we discover how tiny steps can bring about slow\, meaningful transformation for ourselves and the soil beneath our feet. \nAbout Ann\nAnn Kreilkamp\, PhD (philosophy\, Boston University\, 1972) made an unexpected turn at age 60\, moving to Bloomington in 2003 from a 20-foot diameter yurt in Jackson Hole\, Wyoming. Having lived both on the east and west coasts but never visited the midwest\, Ann saw Indiana as a “flyover state” and had no interest in living there. But when her late husband decided to attend law school at IU\, she joined him. \nThen\, after only one evening together\, he died of a heart attack while asleep\, leaving her alone in a strange town. \nAnn had to stay. Why? She didn’t know. All she knew was that her husband had left her with a house in an inheritance\, and the question became: how was she to utilize it? \nVenue & Details\nLennie’s is a beloved Bloomington institution known for its warm atmosphere\, exceptional cuisine\, and craft beer selection.
