SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club\, January 17\, 2023: Tiffany Justice
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILThe famed dinner club at a fabulous venue (the real Chinese stuff) with friends of the Brownstone Institute\, featuring Tiffany Justice. \nCome early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nOur special guest this month is Tiffany Justice\, founder of the famed and highly effective Moms for Liberty. Tiffany is a wife and mom of four school-aged children. In 2016 she stepped up to serve for 4 years on the School District of Indian River County\, FL School Board. She believes that kids in public school deserve innovation and parents have the right to know the union interference and government bureaucracy that is keeping that innovation from happening in their children’s district. \nShe will speak about her journey and trials\, including the incredible media smears. We are so honored to welcome her.

SUMMARY:The Rally to Reclaim Free Speech
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILThe States of Missouri and Louisiana and the individual plaintiffs in Murthy v. Missouri (formerly Missouri v. Biden) – as do plaintiffs in Kennedy/CHD v. Biden – allege that the Biden Administration impermissibly coerced and pressured social media companies to deplatform and shadowban users and censor truthful content regarding COVID\, regulatory failures\, vaccines\, and other content with which the Biden administration disagrees. The District Court (W.D.La.) ruled that the Biden Administration had to stop many of its actions\, even while the case was still being heard\, but that ruling is stayed until the Supreme Court reaches its decision. \nSCOTUS’s ruling in this case will have far-reaching implications for the free speech rights guaranteed by the First Amendment that Americans have enjoyed since the Founding Fathers. Justices will hear oral arguments while freedom-loving advocates for free speech and no censorship gather outside to exercise our free speech rights. Let your voice be heard!

SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club Philadelphia! Thursday\, May 2\, 2024 – Tracy Thurman
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILMay 2 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm  $50.00\nBrownstone is thrilled to announce its second monthly Supper Club in Philadelphia! \nOur first Philly event was a huge success\, and we look forward to making this a monthly get-together for friends of the Brownstone Institute. \nWe are very excited to introduce our community to this month’s guest\, food freedom advocate Tracy Thurman. \nTracy is an advocate for regenerative farming\, food sovereignty\, and decentralized food systems. She works with Barnes Law and the 1776 Law Center to safeguard our right to purchase truly healthy meat and raw dairy\, and to protect farmers’ rights to sell their products directly to informed customers without government interference. Tracy will present her research on how food freedom and medical freedom are inextricably linked and will discuss the case of Amos Miller\, the Amish farmer facing prosecution by federal and state agencies for making food the way his customers request it\, rather than the way the State demands. \nOur venue\, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district\, offers a buffet of all-you-can-consume Mexican food\, margaritas\, beer\, and wine — all included. DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILBrownstone Supper Club Philadelphia! Thursday\, June 6\, 2024 – Diane Soucy \nJune 6 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm  $50.00 \nBrownstone is thrilled to announce its upcoming monthly Supper Club in Philadelphia! \nWe are very excited to introduce our community to this month’s guest\, medical freedom advocate and founder of the Activities for Daily Living Center in Philadelphia Diane Soucy.  \nDiane is works closely with Health Freedom\, Pennsylvania to fight legislative battles for medical freedoms in the state. She is also the Founder and CEO of Activities for Daily Living Center\, providing support and services to individuals with autism and their families.  \nDiane will discuss a lawsuit filed by Children’s Health Defense and a group of parents in November of last year (recently dismissed by a judge but looking for ways to pursue)\, which challenges a Philadelphia law that allows minors to consent to vaccination without their parents’ knowledge. Incredibly\, in addition to allowing children 11 and older to consent to vaccination\, in 2021 the Philly Department of Public Health enacted an additional regulation that allowed children to consent to the Covid vax that was only available under emergency use authorization.  \nOur venue\, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district\, offers a buffet of all-you-can-consume Mexican food\, margaritas\, beer\, and wine — all included. SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club\, June 26\, 2024: Leslie Manookian (Health Freedom Defense Fund)
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILThe famed dinner club at a fabulous venue (the real Chinese stuff) with friends of the Brownstone Institute\, featuring Leslie Manookian\, the founder and president of Health Freedom Defense Fund. \nCome early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nOur special guest this month is Leslie Manookian\, the founder and president of Health Freedom Defense Fund. Her organization is fresh from an epic victory in a Los Angeles appeals court: the vaccine mandate for school employees was rejected. The grounds are hugely significant: the court said the Covid vaccine mandate did not meet the standards of Jacobson (1905). This is the first major court case in 120 years to curb this power. \nYou must come to hear a first-hand account of the case\, the arguments\, and implications of this huge victory. Keep in mind that Leslie was also behind the court case that struck down the transportation mask mandate. That was a massive victory  And now we have another one. \nWe are so honored to welcome her. You will NOT want to miss this!

SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club Philadelphia! July 11\, 2024 – Amy Wax
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAIL\nJuly 11 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm  $50.00\nBrownstone is thrilled to announce its fourth monthly Supper Club in Philadelphia! \nWe are very excited to introduce our community to this month’s guest\, American legal scholar and neurologist Amy Wax. She is the Robert Mundheim Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Her work addresses issues in social welfare law and policy\, as well as the relationship of the family\, the workplace\, and labor markets. \nAt Supper Club Philadelphia\, Professor Wax will discuss Penn’s case against her with as much detail as she can\, the problems in our K-12 education system\, and the general tide of censorship and corruption that is sweeping nearly all of the academy. \nOur venue\, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district\, offers a buffet of all-you-can-consume Mexican food\, margaritas\, beer\, and wine — all included. Join us for a night of eating and drinking\, meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. Dress is whatever makes you happy – casual is great\, fancy is also wonderful. \nLOCATION & PARKING\nLas Bugambilias\, at 15 S. 3rd St. is near the corner of 3rd and Chestnut Sts\, right off the I-95 and 676 highways.\nOne outdoor parking lot is immediately adjacent to the restaurant ($25) and a large indoor lot is around the corner on 4th and Chestnut Sts. ($20-30)\nStreet parking is usually easy to find in the evenings as well (pay at kiosks or through the MeterUp parking app). \nWHERE TO STAY\nIn the 3-block radius around the restaurant you’ll find several 3- and 4-star hotels\, with nightly rates starting as low as $89.\nApple Hostels offers affordable rooms at a location near the venue (33 Bank St). One of our guests last month stayed at the hostel and highly recommends it. \nQUESTIONS/ADDITIONAL INFO\nPlease contact Debbie Lerman or Logan Chipkin with any questions or to request more information.\ndebbielerman@yahoo.com\nchipkin.logan@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club\, July 24\, 2024: Jeffrey Tucker
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILThe famed dinner club at a fabulous venue (the real Chinese stuff) with friends of the Brownstone Institute. \n“Can we ever just have a social hour instead of always having a big speaker?” \nSure\, and summer time is the perfect time for that! Supper club people love just to visit. \nJust in case\, however\, our president Jeffrey Tucker is going to speak about his discoveries concerning the economic data of our times. It seems that it is not all on the up and up. Inflation is far higher and growth far lower. We might have been in recession/depression since March 2020\, based on reasonable revisions. He will explain all this. And you will feel better: it’s not just you\, everyone is suffering financially. \nCome early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nThis should be a wonderful event. And it’s a chance to learn about economic stuff without being bored!
