The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nOur special guest this month is Leslie Manookian\, the founder and president of Health Freedom Defense Fund. Her organization is fresh from an epic victory in a Los Angeles appeals court: the vaccine mandate for school employees was rejected. The grounds are hugely significant: the court said the Covid vaccine mandate did not meet the standards of Jacobson (1905). This is the first major court case in 120 years to curb this power. \nYou must come to hear a first-hand account of the case\, the arguments\, and implications of this huge victory. Keep in mind that Leslie was also behind the court case that struck down the transportation mask mandate. That was a massive victory  And now we have another one. \nWe are so honored to welcome her. You will NOT want to miss this!

She is the Robert Mundheim Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Her work addresses issues in social welfare law and policy\, as well as the relationship of the family\, the workplace\, and labor markets. \nAt Supper Club Philadelphia\, Professor Wax will discuss Penn’s case against her with as much detail as she can\, the problems in our K-12 education system\, and the general tide of censorship and corruption that is sweeping nearly all of the academy. \nOur venue\, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district\, offers a buffet of all-you-can-consume Mexican food\, margaritas\, beer\, and wine — all included. Join us for a night of eating and drinking\, meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. Supper club people love just to visit. \nJust in case\, however\, our president Jeffrey Tucker is going to speak about his discoveries concerning the economic data of our times. It seems that it is not all on the up and up. Inflation is far higher and growth far lower. We might have been in recession/depression since March 2020\, based on reasonable revisions. He will explain all this. And you will feel better: it’s not just you\, everyone is suffering financially. \nCome early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nThis should be a wonderful event. And it’s a chance to learn about economic stuff without being bored!
