SUMMARY:Brownstone Pittsburgh Supper Club\, August 26\, 2026: Ann Bauer
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILDeBlaze at 131 | 131 E Main St.\, Carnegie\, PA 15106 \nWednesday\, August 26\, 2026 6:30 – 9 pm  \n$53 includes appetizers and dinner \nPittsburgh Brownstone Supper Club is pleased to welcome Ann Bauer\, as she presents “Chronological Certainty and the Crackdown on Speech.” \nC.S. Lewis wrote about this phenomenon (as Chronological Snobbery) that has become hardened in today’s elite academic world. It’s the fallacy that whatever science came before modern “discoveries” was faulty\, naive\, and suspect. But everything researchers say\, believe\, or divine TODAY is indisputable fact. Coupled with speech laws banning misinformation\, it allows a small\, self-interested group of so-called scientists to dictate “truth.” It is regressive. The Vanishing Family\, a widely-publicized forthcoming book by bestselling author Robert Kolker\, underscores this trend. \nAnn Bauer is a novelist\, essayist\, and co-founder of the publishing app Storyalīz\, which was developed to improve literacy and critical thinking.

DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILChattanooga Supper Club\, September 1\, 2026; 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm \nGigi Foster \nState of Confusion Restaurant (Pumphouse)\, 301 E Main St.\, Chattanooga\, TN 37408 (423) 760-3473 \nTuesday\, September 1st | 5:30 – 9:00 pm \nChattanooga\, TN \n$45 per person. Cash bar available. \nPlease join us for an evening of lively conversation\, intriguing speakers\, and fun! This month we are pleased to welcome Brownstone Institute Senior Scholar Gigi Foster\, now on sabbatical in the US. \nAbout Gigi Foster \nGigi Foster works in diverse fields including education\, social influence\, time use\, lab experiments\, behavioural economics\, and Australian policy. Named 2019 Young Economist of the Year by the Economic Society of Australia\, she publishes in both specialised and cross-disciplinary outlets\, and her innovative teaching was awarded a 2017 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. She has filled numerous roles of service to the profession and engages heavily on economic matters with the Australian community\, as one of Australia’s leading economics communicators\, in the media and at live events. She co-founded the think tank Australians for Science and Freedom in 2023\, and is an author of dozens of academic articles and several books\, including The Great Covid Panic (2021) and Do Lockdowns and Border Closures Serve the “Greater Good”? (2022). \nAbout the Talk \nThe ethics\, politics and economics of Western renewal. The modern West is in decline\, as evidenced in our institutions\, our culture\, and the betrayal of our people by elites who disregard the needs of a healthy society in favour of serving power. What to do? In this Brownstone Supper Club talk\, I will describe my approach to this uber-problem as an economist trained in the broad social sciences\, from both a theoretical and a highly practical standpoint\, focussing on desirable and feasible options for institutional redesign. Amongst other things I will discuss the mission and activities of the free think tank I co-founded and co-direct\, Australians for Science and Freedom\, and the newest attempt at Western renewal in which I am involved: a serious proposal for the secession of Western Australia from that country’s Commonwealth government. I will also briefly discuss the origin of Brownstone Institute’s first published book\, The Great Covid Panic\, released in September 2021\, which I co-authored with Paul Frijters and Michael Baker. \nVenue\, Location & Parking \n$45 per person. Space is limited\, so be sure to secure your seat early: For more information\, contact Janet Gorbitz (local host) at operations@brownstone.org.

SUMMARY:Brownstone Greater Boston Supper Club\, Sept. 1\, 2026: Madhava Setty
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILRocco’s Restaurant and Bar\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington\, MA \nTuesday\, September 1st\n5:30pm – 9:00pm\nWilmington\, MA\n$55 \nPlease join us for an evening of lively conversation\, intriguing speakers\, and fun!  This month we are pleased to welcome Madhava Setty\, MD  \nYour ticket also includes an appetizer\, hearty buffet dinner\, and wine\, and covers tax and gratuity. \nAbout Madhava Setty\, MD \nDr. Setty is the Science Advisor to the International Center for 9/11 Justice. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT\, Dr. Setty spent six years in the Defense Industry developing combat training simulators and computer graphics interfaces for underwater surveillance systems. He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in 1998 and trained in anesthesiology at University of Pennsylvania where he was Chief Resident in 2002. Dr. Setty has been a Board Certified anesthesiologist since 2003. During the pandemic Madhava served as the Senior Science Editor for The Defender\, the online newsletter for Children’s Health Defense. He is the author of “WOKE. An Anesthesiologist’s View”\, a systematic examination of the bias in establishment science\, media and our own minds. He writes the popular newsletter “An Insult to Intuition” on the Substack platform.  \nAbout the Talk \nThe topic of 9/11 deserves deep investigation and contemplation perhaps more today than ever before. Until a few years ago\, challenging the official account of the events of September 11th would relegate you to remote corners of social media discourse. Today\, supporting the official story comes with serious liability to your own credibility. Unlike previous events in our history which have been distorted to usher in greater surveillance and justify expensive and deleterious counter-measures both biological and societal\, the necessary rejection of foundational scientific principles to support the “official narrative” is obvious even to those with little or no scientific or engineering background. \n \nIn this talk I will first clarify the actual explanation offered by the governing scientific body conducting the investigation of those events\, The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)\, how it violates basic laws of motion and how it overtly veers from the scientific method to reach unfounded conclusions. Next I will explain why a rigorous examination of the 9/11 events is perhaps the most useful tool in exposing legacy media propaganda and the fallacy that “expert” opinion and scientific “consensus” is irreproachable.  \nVenue\, Location & Parking \nRocco’s\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington. Free parking. Overflow parking at Dunkin’ Donuts next door\, or across the street @ Sherwin Williams. \nRegistration\n$55 per person.  Space is limited so be sure to secure your seat early! \nFor more information contact Brianne at BrianneKrupsaw@gmail.com Please include “September Supper Club” in the subject line. \n

DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILMonday September 14th @ 6:00pm – 9:00pm \nDish Society\, 1600 South First Street\, Austin 78704\n6:00pm – 9:00pm\nAustin\, Texas\n$50 per person for dinner\, drink\, dessert and speaker \nYou’re invited to join us for an evening of conversation with Dr. Andrew Wakefield\, one of the earliest voices to raise concerns of the connection between a childhood vaccine and digestive and neurological injuries.   \nAbout Dr. Wakefield \nDr. Andrew Wakefield first drew widespread attention for his 1998 Lancet MMR autism study; he had discovered a new disease. But pursuit of links between childhood vaccines\, intestinal inflammation\, and neurological injury in children\, cost him his job in the Department of Medicine at London’s Royal Free Hospital\, his country\, career\, Fellowships\, and his medical license. He has since been proven right. \nWakefield re-invented himself as an award-winning filmmaker. His first documentary\, Who Killed Alex Spourdalakis?\, made American legal history by changing the outcome of a case of alleged murder. He produced\, directed and co-wrote VAXXED\, a CDC whistleblower story confirming the MMR vaccine-autism link\, and one of the top US documentary features of 2016. He is the director of his first major narrative feature\, Protocol 7\, co-written with Terry Rossio. \nAbout the Talk \nHe will talk about the twist and turns his career has taken and about the release of his latest bestseller – The Bequest.   Books can be purchased at the event and signed by Dr. Wakefield after the talk. \nVenue\, Location & Parking\nDish Society is located within the Willa complex\, at the corner of South First Street & Monroe.  There is a parking garage and each attendee will receive parking validation for up to 2 hours.  There is also a combination of paid and free parking on Monroe Street (east and west of S 1st).   \nRegistration\n $50 per person.  Space is limited so be sure to secure your seat early.  For more information contact Cyndi at cyndi@flourishholisticwellness.com.   Please include “Austin Supper Club” in the subject line.

SUMMARY:Brownstone Indiana Supper Club\, September 14\, 2026: Mark Fraley
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILBrownstone Institute Indiana Supper Club \nSeptember 14\, 2026:  Mark Fraley \nMonday September 14 @ 6:30pm – 9:30pm \nLennie’s Restaurant\, 514 E. Kirkwood Ave\, Bloomington\, IN\n6:30pm – 9:30pm\n$55 per person includes a buffet dinner\, wine\, beer and soft drinks. \nPlease join us for an evening of warm community\, lively conversation and great food & drink. This month we are pleased to welcome Mark Fraley\, Associate Director of the Political and Civic Engagement (PACE) Program at Indiana University Bloomington. He’ll give a talk titled “On Misunderstanding and Being Misunderstood”. \nAbout Mark Fraley  \nMark Fraley works at the intersection of contemplative practice and democratic deliberation. As Associate Director of the Political and Civic Engagement (PACE) Program at Indiana University Bloomington\, he designs and facilitates programming around civic dialogue\, viewpoint diversity\, and democratic engagement. He co-founded IU’s Heterodox Academy campus community and chairs the IU Votes initiative. His practice draws on contemplative training as well as the tradition of structured public deliberation\, and he brings both to bear on the challenge of genuine cross-ideological understanding. \nAbout the Talk \nWe like to think we engage with ideas on their merits. In practice\, we’re remarkably quick to reach for a label\, and once the label lands\, the conversation is over before it begins. This talk explores how pre-established frames shape the way we receive unfamiliar ideas\, and how that dynamic produces a particular kind of isolation: the experience of speaking and not being heard. \nDrawing on contemplative traditions and deliberative frameworks\, Mark Fraley offers a framework for sitting with that discomfort rather than resolving it prematurely\, and for approaching genuine disagreement with something closer to curiosity than defense. \nVenue & Details \nLennie’s is a beloved Bloomington institution known for its warm atmosphere\, exceptional cuisine\, and craft beer selection. For over 30 years\, Lennie’s has been bringing people together over delicious food and drink in a setting perfect for meaningful conversation. \nLocation & Parking \nLennie’s is located at 514 E. Kirkwood Ave in the heart of downtown Bloomington\, Indiana. Free parking is available after 5PM in the Indiana University Von Lee Parking Lot at the corner of Sixth and Dunn\, and in the Indiana University Parking Lot #402 at 4th and Dunn. There is also metered parking (metered until 9PM) available on streets surrounding Kirkwood Avenue. Several parking garages are within walking distance. \nTicket Information \n$55 per person includes a tasty buffet dinner and drinks. SUMMARY:Brownstone Pittsboro\, NC Supper Club\, Sept. 15th: Jane Hoppin
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILBrownstone Institute Supper Club\, Pittsboro\, NC \nForest Hall at Chatham Mills \nTuesday\, September 15\, 2026 @ 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM \n$48 includes full meal and non-alcohol drinks\, cash bar available \nWe are pleased to welcome Dr. Jane Hoppin\, international expert on “forever chemicals” like PFAS and the principal investigator on the GenX Exposure Study involving Pittsboro residents. \nAbout the Talk \nWhat are the health consequences of long term PFAS exposure? \nPFAS (per and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are persistent environmental contaminants (aka forever chemicals) that have historically been found at high levels in drinking water throughout the Cape Fear River Basin\, including Pittsboro. Health risks associated with PFAS include reduced immune response to vaccines\, thyroid disruption\, elevated cholesterol\, pregnancy complications\, and increased risk of kidney and testicular cancers. \n While residents of the Wilmington area have some unique PFAS exposures as a result of chemical manufacturing near Fayetteville\, people throughout the Basin have been impacted by historic and current use of these chemicals in textile and furniture manufacturing\, airports and fire stations\, and land application of biosolids containing PFAS. PFAS levels of Pittsboro residents are higher than the US population. While efforts to reduce PFAS in drinking water have resulted in lower blood levels of these chemicals\, the potential for long term health effects remain. \nThis talk will include an overview of the GenX Exposure Study’s PFAS research in the Cape Fear River Basin\, what we are learning about potential health impacts\, and how people can engage with their health care providers about this issue. Jane will also discuss emerging issues around PFAS including ultrashort chain chemicals. This talk hits very close to home and is an exceptional opportunity to understand the threats to our water supply\, what can be done to protect our health and to ask nuanced questions to a local expert.   \nAbout the Speaker  \nJane Hoppin\, ScD\, is a professor of environmental epidemiology at NC State University whose work focuses on understanding the impact of chemical exposures on communities. Historically\, her work has focused on environmental and occupational pesticide exposure in both the US and in Costa Rica. Since 2017\, she has been the Principal Investigator of the GenX Exposure Study\, a prospective study investigating the impact of PFAS chemicals in communities throughout the Cape Fear River Basin\, including Pittsboro. Through this work\, she interacts with community members\, community organizations focusing on environmental issues\, and local and state health departments. \n In 2022\, in recognition of this work\, she received the Governor James E. Holshouser\, Jr. Award for Excellence in Public Service which recognizes and rewards “sustained\, distinguished\, and superb achievement in university public service and outreach\, and contributions to improve the quality of life of the citizens of North Carolina” from the UNC Board of Governors.  \nJane is an international expert in the health effects of PFAS. In 2021-2022\, she served on the National Academies of Sciences\, Engineering\, and Medicine Panel which published\, “Guidance on PFAS Exposure\, Testing\, and Clinical Follow-Up.” Additionally\, she was part of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) committee that evaluated PFOA and PFOS for carcinogenicity in 2023. \nVenue & Details \nForest Hall at Chatham Mills\, 480 Hillsboro Street\, Suite 530\, Pittsboro\, NC \nForest Hall is located in a historic label mill built in the early 1900s\, the venue has wooden floors\, exposed brick walls and large windows. The 3500 square foot hall is located on 32 acres of woods and meadows in historic downtown Pittsboro\, NC- just 20 minutes away from Chapel Hill and 40 minutes from Raleigh or Durham.  Catering is provided by 39 West Catering.    \nTicket Information  \n$48 per person includes a lovely buffet style dinner and non-alcohol drinks. Cash bar available.  Secure your spot now!

Several of her clients have been featured at the State of the Union\, including the young woman Sage Blair\, a minor who was indoctrinated into radical gender ideology at a local public school then trafficked across state lines as a male. Recently\, CPRC supported a California School Board under attack for requiring parental notification if their child expresses “gender confusion” at school.  \nHer cases center around censorship and lack of debate in medical science\, fear to speak up about medical harms in gender-related treatment\, and ideological groupthink around issues deserving scientific inquiry. \nDon’t miss this rare opportunity to hear from one of our nation’s experts in the fight to protect children and parental rights\, and to restore evidence-based healthcare. \nOur June event sold out quickly\, so don’t delay reserving your spot or table! \nTable purchases and questions: contact Beth Feeley and Carrie Mendoza at brownstonescnorthshore@gmail.com

Drawing on her experience in financial markets\, she explores the hidden connections between inflation\, debt\, central banking\, public policy\, and the changing global monetary system. Known for making complex ideas understandable\, Lynette helps audiences question familiar assumptions\, recognize repeating historical patterns\, and consider what those changes could mean for their savings\, choices\, families\, and future.  \nAbout the Talk\nWhat if the price shown on a screen is not the same as real value?
