Spencer Standish (1945) Professor of Operations Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management and affiliated faculty at the MIT Operations Research Center.  \nBetween 2015-2024 he served as the MIT Sloan Faculty Co-Director of the Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) program\, and he currently serves as the Faculty Director of the MIT Sloan Food Supply Chain Analytics and Sensing (FSAS) Initiative\, and as the faculty co-lead of the Machine Intelligence for Operations & Manufacturing (MIMO) effort.  \nIn June 2025\, Levi was appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) that is responsible to provide to the CDC director vaccination policy recommendations.  \nLevi is a world expert and a thought leader in risk management\, safety and the applications of advanced data-analytics\, machine learning and artificial intelligence.  \nHis research addresses core design\, operations and policy issues related to large healthcare and public health systems\, food\, agriculture and water systems\, manufacturing and supply chain environments\, pharmacovigilance\, epidemiology\, cybersecurity\, as well as logistics\, procurement\, and retail. \nAbout the Talk \nThis talk will discuss the potential risks of resilience that emerge with the increasing number of AI-enabled systems and processes implemented in businesses and other public systems. \nVenue\, Location & Parking \nRocco’s\, 193 Main Street\, Wilmington. This month we are pleased to welcome Liv Degenkolb\, Vice President of Feds for Freedom (fedsforfreedom.org).  \nAbout Liv Degenkolb \nOlivia Degenkolb is a retired U.S. Navy Commander with experience in nuclear power\, aviation\, and international relations.  She lost her position as the Assistant Naval Attaché (designate) to China after expressing concerns about the COVID-19 shot\, and later experienced significant whistleblower retaliation after notifying senior military leadership\, and later Congress\, of illegal COVID policies.  \nLiv discovered Feds For Freedom through a presentation offered to support those filing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints.  The presentation provided perspectives she used in her own EEO filing and in assisting others who were fighting COVID-related mandates.  As a result\, Liv joined the organization and has actively participated in efforts to educate and advocate for individual liberties and responsibilities.  \nLiv is a wife\, homeschooling mom\, and homesteader. \nVenue\, Location & Parking \n$45 per person.
