It often takes five to ten years for a woman to receive a diagnosis for common chronic conditions affecting her reproductive system\, and treatment often focuses on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying condition. The causes of these failures are legion\, ranging from insufficient theories of health to reimbursement systems that incentivize profit and efficiency over integral health. In this talk\, Christy and Grant Martsolf will explore these challenges and how women’s health can be improved by providers motivated by a proper vision of health and care\, equipped with the right tools and incentives.  \nChristy Martsolf is FEMM-trained board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. Grant Martsolf is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellow of the Institute for Family Studies. Together they co-own the Headwaters Clinic—a family-run integrative primary care clinic specializing in hormone dysregulation and women’s health.

She leads a team of litigators and researchers focused on protecting children and the environment from the harms of wireless radiofrequency (RF) radiation. Miriam is an international lawyer with a background in corporate accountability and international human rights law. She will describe what she sees when a child’s mind cannot keep a sequence\, cannot weigh competing claims\, and cannot sit still long enough to test a story against reality. She will connect that cognitive collapse to classrooms that reward feeling over analysis\, to devices that train the brain for interruption\, and to professional cultures that replaced differential diagnosis with affirmation. \nThis is not a lament about “kids these days.” It is a practical argument: the capacity to think is biological\, trainable\, and being systematically neglected. She has spent years using neuroplasticity-based cognitive work\, strengthening processing\, memory\, reasoning\, and executive function\, so children and adults can do the one thing institutions now discourage: follow a line of evidence to the end. \nAbout Dr. Sheila Furey \nDr. Sheila Furey is a child\, adolescent\, and adult psychiatrist who has practiced in the Richmond area for more than twenty-six years. Her passion for serving children led her to teach brain exercises that help children and adults overcome learning disabilities\, work that is changing lives by treating the organ of thought rather than merely managing its symptoms. \nIn 2022 she founded the Virginia Medical Freedom Alliance\, a coalition of healthcare professionals and citizens who first came together to educate the public about early treatment for Covid-19 and the safety questions surrounding the shots. That mission has widened: protecting informed consent\, bodily sovereignty\, and the doctor-patient relationship at every stage of development. \nBorn in Carroll\, Iowa\, she attended Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha and completed her residency and child psychiatry fellowship at Boston University Hospitals.
