SUMMARY:Brownstone Supper Club\, West Hartford\, October 21\, 2026: Jim Erdman
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILWest Hartford\, CT\, October 21: James Erdman III\, CIA whistleblower  \nOn Wednesday\, October 21\, 2026\, the beloved West Hartford Supper Club – the first in the nation – is pleased to welcome James E. Erdman\, retired CIA senior operations officer\,  Army Ranger veteran\, and co-founder of Feds For Freedom who became publicly known in 2026 as a whistleblower on COVID-19 origins assessments. \nJim is one of the bravest and most outstanding men of our time. He only recently retired from the CIA following his Senate testimony that called out Anthony Fauci among others for suppressing the likely origins of Covid.  \nButterfly is the venue (the real Chinese stuff) with friends of the Brownstone Institute. Come early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nIn 2025–2026\, Erdman completed a joint-duty assignment at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s Director’s Initiatives Group (DIG)\, where he led reviews of COVID origins\, anomalous health incidents (Havana Syndrome)\, and unidentified anomalous phenomena.  \nIn May 2026 he testified under subpoena before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (chaired by Sen. Rand Paul). He alleged that intelligence-community leaders downplayed or suppressed CIA analysts’ lab-leak conclusions\, retaliated against those who maintained that view\, withheld records from investigators\, and illegally monitored DIG personnel\, their computers\, phones\, and contacts with whistleblowers. He described the net effect as a cover-up that misled policymakers. \nCome to celebrate his courage\, meet him and hear from him\, and find new friends who are equally concerned about the future.

SUMMARY:Brownstone Pittsburgh Supper Club\, October 28\, 2026: George Paik
DESCRIPTION:SHARE | PRINT | EMAILDeBlaze at 131 | 131 E Main St.\, Carnegie\, PA 15106 \nWednesday\, October 28\, 2026 6:30 – 9 pm  \n$53 includes appetizers and dinner \nPittsburgh Brownstone Supper Club is pleased to welcome George F. Paik as he presents “American Institutions And Public Trust”. \nPublic trust has been deteriorating for decades.  Institutional operators shape everyone’s lives while focusing on their career interests.  Our politicians try to alienate us from each other.  Only comity underwrites trust.  American comity rests on our national self-conception as holders of certain Truths: of unalienable\, equally endowed personal rights\, and of government legitimated by consent of the governed.  Can we re-set our institutions on this existential bedrock?  \nGeorge F. Paik is a former political affairs officer in the U.S. Foreign Service\, a twenty-year veteran of U.S. capital markets\, and a student of social theory and American history.   \nHis diplomatic service straddled the end of the Cold War\, giving him a “before and after” view of U.S. foreign policy.  Duties included political analysis\, human rights\, and trade affairs\, at postings in Brazil and in Trinidad and Tobago and in Washington.  In finance\, he has worked as Head of Loan Capital Markets\, Mellon Bank; corporate lender\, Peoples United Bank; Manager Capital Markets\, Bank of Montreal New York; and loan syndicator\, Manufacturers Hanover Trust.  He has long worked to promote international affairs awareness with World Affairs Councils\, American Committees on Foreign Relations\, and currently a Pittsburgh Committee on Foreign Relations (pghcfr.org).  He blogs on commonconviction.net\, and has contributed to sites including foreignpolicyblogs.com\, World Policy Journal\, and internationalpolicydigest.org.   \nPaik holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania\, and a BA in Social Studies from Harvard University.  His undergraduate thesis was titled Elihu Root and the War Department Reforms of 1904: Anatomy of a Progressive Era Reform.
