This organization has been on the front lines for fiscal transparency in government. It was first to explore Anthony Fauci’s salary of $480\,654\, the biggest in the federal workforce! \nCome early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends\, scholars\, writers\, and benefactors\, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun\, even if some people come in fancier clothing. \nThis month we are deeply honored to host John Hart\, an experienced investigator of government who has been on the front lines with one central question: where is the money going? His organization Open the Books has developed vast databases of documentation that have helped reformers get a handle on waste\, abuse\, and fraud in government. He knows the system as well as any living person. \nJohn will share with us insights on what it is like to be in his position as a voice of fiscal sanity while working with DOGE in DC\, and what he has learned over the last several years in his role. We are thrilled to hear from him and hear his story of his experiences and what it has taught him about this highly contentious moment in public life.
