You’re invited to join us for an evening of conversation with Travis McCormick, a passionate Texan lobbyist advocating for nutrition and healthcare reform.
About Travis
Travis McCormick is a political consultant with more than 15 years of experience in Texas government and political campaigns. Most recently, he helped reformer and political newcomer Nate Sheets defeat a three-term incumbent in the Republican primary for Texas agriculture commissioner. Last legislative session, Travis founded Make Texans Healthy Again, helping advance more than 25 bills involving nutrition and healthcare reform and launch a bipartisan, 30-member MAHA Caucus in the Texas Legislature.
About the Talk
The Texas Legislature meets for just 140 days every two years, creating a narrow window in which thousands of bills compete to become law. Travis will explain how the legislative process actually works, identify the key players who shape policy, and discuss practical ways Texans (especially you in Austin) can participate and make their voices heard during the session. He will also examine the upcoming elections, what current polling and voter data suggest about the political landscape, and what several important races could mean for the future of the health and food reform movement in Texas.

Dish Society is located within the Willa complex, at the corner of South First Street & Monroe. There is a parking garage and each attendee will receive full parking validation. There is also a combination of paid and free parking on Monroe Street (east and west of S 1st).
