About the Talk
Julie Lapidus joins the Brownstone Institute Supper Club to discuss her new book, The Autism Generation: Understanding the Autism Epidemic from Causes to Solutions, and the research behind it.
Inspired by her brother’s autism journey, Lapidus spent more than 16 years investigating questions surrounding the rise in autism diagnoses and chronic childhood illness. In this talk, she will discuss her conclusions about potential contributing factors, including environmental exposures and medical interventions, as well as the biomedical and lifestyle approaches she believes can help improve health and quality of life.
Lapidus will also discuss why she challenges some conventional explanations for rising autism prevalence, how she evaluated the scientific literature in developing her arguments, and what she believes parents, clinicians, and researchers should consider when examining prevention, treatment, and long-term well-being.
The evening will include a presentation followed by audience Q&A.
