April 4 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm $50.00

Brownstone is thrilled to announce that its famed Supper Club is coming to Philadelphia!

Hosted by Brownstone Fellow Debbie Lerman and Managing Editor Logan Chipkin, join us at a fabulous Mexican venue with friends of the Brownstone Institute.

For those who have desperately wanted to attend Brownstone’s Supper Club but live closer to the Delaware Valley area than to Connecticut, this event is for you.

For those from farther away, come for the Supper and stay for the weekend! If there is enough interest, we will make this a monthly event.

Our venue, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district, offers a buffet of Mexican food, margaritas, beer, and wine — all included. Join us for a night of eating and drinking, meet Brownstone Institute friends, scholars, writers, and benefactors, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. Dress is whatever makes you happy – casual is great, fancy is also wonderful.

This month, our guest speaker is our very own Debbie Lerman, who will talk about the Censorship and Propaganda Industrial Complex that was both exposed and vastly expanded during Covid.

LOCATION & PARKING
Las Bugambilias, at 15 S. 3rd St. is near the corner of 3rd and Chestnut Sts, right off the I-95 and 676 highways.
One outdoor parking lot is immediately adjacent to the restaurant ($20) and a large indoor lot is around the corner on 4th and Chestnut Sts. ($20-30)
Street parking is usually easy to find in the evenings as well (pay at kiosks or through the MeterUp parking app).

WHERE TO STAY
In the 3-block radius around the restaurant you’ll find several 3- and 4-star hotels, with nightly rates starting as low as $89.
Apple Hostels offers affordable rooms at a location near the venue (33 Bank St).

OLD CITY ACTIVITIES
If you decide to make it a weekend, or even come Thursday morning to explore the area before dinner, you’ll find more interesting sites in ‘America’s most historic square mile’ that we can list here.
A few highlights include:
Elfreth’s Alley – one of the oldest continuously inhabited residential streets in the U.S., dating back to 1703
Independence Hall – tours are interesting and moving, as you get to see where our founding documents were debated and signed
Ben Franklin Museum – if you’re going to focus on one founding father, Ben Franklin is a great one!
Museum of the American Revolution – excellent exhibits that do a better job than most of bringing history to life
Penn’s Landing – a walkway along the Delaware River with great views, food and activities
