Brownstone Supper Club, West Hartford, February 18: Ann Bauer

On Wednesday, February 18, 2025, the beloved West Hartford Supper Club – the first in the nation – is pleased to welcome Ann Bauer, bestselling author, world-famous essayist, once a beloved writer for the New York Times (forgive her please), and now one of the most compelling thinkers and critics of our time.
Ann will not likely go down in history as the source who broke the Minnesota welfare fraud case but she probably should. Her deep knowledge of the state informed most of the reporting on that topic. She will likely share facts and analysis of the culture of the state never heard before, along with some detail that has yet to make the news.
Butterfly is the venue (the real Chinese stuff) with friends of the Brownstone Institute. Come early for cocktails and meet Brownstone Institute friends, scholars, writers, and benefactors, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. The food is wonderful and the discussion brilliant. Casual and fun, even if some people come in fancier clothing.
Ann Bauer’s fame stems from her fierce independence of mind and stylistic elegance. Once a chronicler of New York City cuisine – the subject of her bestseller – she entered the class of dissidents in the Covid era, drawing attention to the ways in which the population was being trolled by a class of scientists she knew all too well. This position alienated her from her social set but opened new opportunities.
The Supper Club is thrilled to have her!
See you soon!
