Jeffrey Tucker sat down with Matt Kibbe of Free the People to close the 2026 Polyface Retreat. Not a lecture—two men who shared a cubicle in graduate school, lost the same tribe in 2020, and spent the weekend watching a new one try to name itself.

Kibbe’s advice helped start Brownstone: stay small enough that payroll and donors cannot own the work. When Covid arrived, Free the People was almost the only ally Tucker could see in the old liberty world. The rest went quiet. Institutions built over decades were already captured. They just did not know it until the order to shut up arrived.

The useful discovery is translation. One side said regulatory capture. The other said corporate capture. Same fact, different dialect. That kind of hearing does not happen in a comments thread. You need a room, and enough trust to ask what someone actually means.

They will not pretend the dark forecasts are impossible. They also will not treat this network as a campaign that expires when one official leaves the building. A market, Kibbe says, is people in an uncertain world trading what they know—not a monopoly product with a mandate attached. The machine is larger than the agency. It is the pharmacy, the campus, the exam room, the face on television. What gathers this tent is the moment left and right notice the same collusion.

Culture first. Politics follows. Someone still has to go first. Then there are two, then five, then a room.

Bret Weinstein closed the 2026 Polyface Retreat without a prepared talk. He said the last speaker’s job was to bat cleanup.

He opened with Toby Rogers and a first Brownstone meeting: he had hoped the talk was crazy, because if it wasn’t the picture was very dark. He is now in a room of people who have seen that darkness. What struck him here was not a victory lap. People stayed. They listened to one another. His notebook could not keep up.

From there he tries to name the room. Humans are the species that can pass an abstract idea across open air and, for a moment, look through someone else’s eyes. Most conferences are a show. This one, he argues, is a culture trying to define itself after a run of trauma—Covid University, a graduate degree in how the machine actually works.

He draws the line between complicated and complex, and why that line changes medicine and farming alike. He answers Gigi Foster on dictionaries: real work forces you to redefine terms or you talk past each other. He walks through what he and Heather Heying mean by culture—the software that lets one species change niches—and why the inherited program has run aground.

Mary Holland has been in the childhood-chronic-disease fight more than twenty-five years. Her son is twenty-nine. He regressed into autism. Covid, she said, was catastrophic. The First Amendment was treated as optional. The founders knew smallpox. There is no pandemic clause. Lockdown is a prison word. Property went. Speech went. There is still no Covid justice resolution—not even a promise not to do it again. Freedoms remain fragile.

Unthinkable in 2021: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at HHS. A criminal-contempt referral of Anthony Fauci to the Justice Department, possible only because Kennedy, Rand Paul, and Ron Johnson lined up. David Morens, Fauci’s longtime deputy, taking a plea for obstruction and facing sentencing. Vincent Munster arrested over monkeypox samples tied to what she called Wuhan West. Poul Thorsen—the Danish researcher used to argue vaccines do not cause autism—arrested in Germany after a 2011 indictment for wire fraud and embezzlement from the CDC, now in jail in Atlanta and expected to plead. Thomas Massie’s Epstein Files law, and a Children’s Health Defense book this fall on how that class financed pandemic planning.

On August 10, the president and Kennedy announced an executive order she reads as the start of a rewrite of childhood vaccination: separating measles, mumps, and rubella; looking at aluminum, timing, and sequence; maximizing parental and religious rights; sending the attorney general after states that will not; and finally standing up the Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines that the 1986 law required and that never really met.

A Trump order against the censorship industrial complex. Kennedy v. Biden settled: money, and an acknowledgment that bureaucrats used the platforms as proxies. Funding for Pierre Kory and other doctors against California. The Supreme Court in Chiles: professional speech is not a lesser category. A federal judge in California then blocked the medical board from punishing doctors who departed from the state’s Covid line. Mahmoud v. Taylor: parents cannot be told to abandon public school to raise children in their faith. That decision was sent back down onto New York’s Amish case, Miller v. McDonald. The Second Circuit shrugged. It returns to the Court this fall. Even Lawrence Gostin has said a First Amendment religious exemption to vaccine mandates is now likely. She will take June 2027. Hold her to it.

Meryl Nass in Maine: a board that treated dissent as mental unfitness. The chief judge called it alarmingly out of step with a judicial process and left the door open to personal-capacity suits and punitive damages. This week, Governor Josh Shapiro announced the first measles deaths in Pennsylvania in thirty-five years. Within a day the local commissioner and coroner contradicted him. A day-old baby died of a ruptured spleen. Infants that age are not given MMR. Children’s Health Defense flagged Protect Our Care in the background. Kennedy answered on X. She thinks the story is over and the governor has egg on his face.

Crowds go mad. Courts took the shots and lived inside the slogan. Korematsu was also the law until it wasn’t. Reagan later paid the families. Reckoning is slow. That is why she wants the gas pedal down—Brownstone, Health Freedom Defense Fund, Children’s Health Defense—while people will still say they know someone the shots hurt.

What she thinks is feasible in five years if they do not ease off: a Supreme Court religious exemption to vaccine mandates; published work she believes will tie vaccination to brain injury and autoimmunity, with schedule changes and some mandates dropped; the PREP Act struck down; and, after the next lab accident, a treaty that actually limits bioweapons. Comment on the childhood-vaccine order. Come to the Children’s Health Defense day in Washington on September 17—Paul, Johnson, Gosar, Gooden.

Gigi Foster—The Great Covid Panic—at the 2026 Polyface Retreat. In April 2020 Jeffrey Tucker watched an Australian panel and saw one red-haired economist refuse to play along. He still calls her Joan of Arc. When she sent the manuscript, he stayed up all night. No university press would touch it. Brownstone, he says, had to exist if only to publish that book. She handed him her father’s military-academy sword for safekeeping and he gave it back on the farm.

Her subject is dictionaries: processed food and processed words. In the 1980s her mother believed Hungry Man dinners and Potato Buds were success. Gigi was twenty before she learned mashed potatoes come from a potato. Walk the supermarket perimeter and you can still name a carrot. Walk the interior aisles and the label says “carrot” while the fine print lists seventeen things you cannot pronounce. Abstract words work the same con. During Covid, “health” was printed on lockdowns, lab coats, and plastic tubing. That was not what was in the box.

Health, on the morning farm tour, looked like animals with space, clean water, and enough to eat—the unglamorous 19th-century work of sewers and food that actually raised life expectancy. Education is forming a person, not telling children what they may say or medicating boys who run. Science is theory tested against data. You approach truth; you never own it. You throw out the theory when the facts refuse it, not the facts. A model is a tool. “Trust the science” has come to mean trust the model. Tolerance is not bullying someone over perfume. An expert knows a sliver of the world and the edge of that sliver—not policy for the rest. Quality is not a university ranking. Progress is not only GDP. Freedom is not Robinson Crusoe on an island. It is earned in a community, by work that opens a door for someone else.

Those swapped definitions are how people get talked into wrecking their own lives. The labels bounce if they are not in your book. She was called granny killer and worse. Water off a duck’s back. A lot of people stayed quiet in 2020 because they could not see a group on the other side. They thought leaving meant standing in the cold. That is why rooms like this matter. They give someone a place to land.

In Australia she co-founded Australians for Science and Freedom: potluck salons, member forums, a yearly conference—next in Perth in November. The point is not only to throw tomatoes at the old system. It is to say what you are building. Mid-March she launched Secession by Western Australia, written with former lawyer Julian Gillespie: an offer to rebuild finance, health, education, and defense locally. Western Australia is a third of the continent, far from Canberra, rich in ports and resources, and last year sent about $39 billion east. Health and schooling, she argues, are daily moral decisions. They cannot be made from the capital. Melbourne was the most locked-down city on earth. Victoria was broken. Almost no one has been held to account. One official allowed that six feet might have been made up. That was the reckoning.

She does not call what we live under a democracy. Technocracy and worse stole the habit of choosing. Use the moral muscle or lose it. Time, money, and attention are moral choices. You cannot outsource them to a hospital protocol or an essay rubric. Dream the city as well as the farm. Not everyone will live like Joel. Reach people with your own dictionary and a straight sentence. If you land in Australia, look her up.

Mollie Engelhart—Debunked by Nature, Epoch Times columnist, rare day off the farm—at the 2026 Polyface Retreat.

The arc she is known for: five vegan restaurants in Los Angeles to a Texas cattle ranch. Her brother left a 2013 New Zealand retreat lit up by Graham Sate: humans are the keystone species; tend nature. She tried a “vegan regenerative” farm. Compost from the kitchens would not cook without animals. A cow named Una arrived, then a bull calf traded for hay, then a fridge with Costco oat milk beside Una’s jars—while she was still nursing. She quietly weaned her son onto raw milk. Nature’s lesson, she says: there is no vegan food. What you put on the plate is yours. Stewardship is not.

She listed the restaurants. A $25–31 million sale, every marker hit, close date May 1, 2020. Best quarter she’d ever run. Two weeks to slow the spread. Three locations died in the lockdowns. On Earth Day 2023 she said it on camera, flipped the remaining kitchens to regenerative meat, and built the supply chain herself. She calls the vegan response worse than the mask years: fake blood, five thousand Yelp stars erased, listings marked permanently closed, chalk and death threats, doctored photos.

January 2025 fires after strikes. Not enough for last payroll or sales tax. A public plea, then the state swept the incoming cash. Life insurance, gold, bitcoin to pay her people. She started over from nothing.

The cost of saying it, she argues, is real. The ripple is larger. Environmentalism-as-you-don’t-belong-here is the psyop. Tend the garden. Tell the truth without shrinking. Economy of scope: a patty melt, tallow balm, mullein from the weeds—not a herd big enough to pay the mortgage on pounds of beef alone. Be the bright cell. Dr. Jill Glasspool Malone. Sscientist, farm-raised animal-science major, former San Diego Zoo behaviorist, longtime clinical-trials researcher, and co-author of the Malone Substack at the 2026 Polyface Retreat.

She traces ultra-processed food not to the cereal aisle but to the steel roller mill, invented in Hungary around 1890. Stone mills had crushed the whole kernel. Rollers kept the endosperm and discarded bran and germ—the parts that go rancid and the parts that hold magnesium, zinc, iron, vitamin E, and the B vitamins. Calories survived. The food matrix did not. White flour behaves like a simple carbohydrate. Americans now eat about 125 pounds of it a year.

The same century cheapened white sugar. Deficiency epidemics followed: pellagra in the American South (an estimated 3 million cases, 100,000 deaths), beriberi from polished rice, iron-deficiency anemia, folate and neural-tube defects. Orphanage diets proved the point—change the food, the disease vanished. Calories were plentiful; usable micronutrients were not.

That era overlapped American eugenics. Children made small and “feeble-minded” by refined grain were treated as bad stock. Compulsory sterilization followed. A full belly, she argues, can still starve.

Government did not restore the grain. It mandated enrichment—thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, iron, later folic acid sprayed onto flour. Classic deficiency diseases fell. Fiber, magnesium, zinc, vitamin E, and structure did not come back. Food became a pile of components. Cereal is that model finished: extrude, sugar, oil, cartoon, vitamin spray. Their book’s phrase: human kibble.

Real food still looks like what it was—an egg, a carrot, a steak, grain that is still grain—grown in living soil. The industrial achievement was teaching us to stop seeing food as a biological whole. The fix: stop taking it apart. Grow it. Raise it. Cook it. Eat it.

He runs a clinic two ridges from Polyface with his wife of 41 years, reversing chronic disease with diet, movement, and mindset. He also runs Ginger Hill Angus: cow families back 16 generations, selected for fescue, fertility, and not calling the vet at 2 a.m.

Until 2022 the herd got the recommended pre-breeding modified-live vaccine. A World Series run with son-in-law Joe Mantiply meant the shots didn’t get done. Next spring: one old open cow, no late-breds. They stopped.

Beef, he says, is the most nutrient-dense food on the plate—not a climate villain, not an artery clogger in his practice. The U.S. herd is the smallest in history by policy, not accident. Ranchers buy from monopolies and sell to monopolies. Since the 1978 dietary guidelines, he argues, government has fed Big Food through schools, hospitals, and WIC.

Mid-talk breaking news from his phone: after import-talk wrecked the market, Trump—post Glenn Beck—would sign an order letting neighbors sell to neighbors. Dr. Kimberly Biss, OB-GYN in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the 2026 Polyface Retreat. Pre-Covid she wanted to work and go home. Then she became hospital chief of staff as physicians, in her words, got scared and stupid—six-foot circles and masks that don’t protect the wearer.

She refused to recommend a brand-new vaccine to pregnant patients. ACOG, she says, was paid in April 2021 to market the shots to women. At the first FLCCC meeting she interrupted Steve Kirsch at breakfast with a trend. The video went viral. Her husband told her to know the numbers or expect to be fired.

Deep dive in her own records, later written up by Jessica Rose: 2020 miscarriage rate 4% month-to-month (she rejects the taught “15%” as what clinicians actually see after six weeks). 2021: 8%. 2022, as patients quit the shots: 15%. Jan–Feb 2023: 30%, then falling. Infertility up. Fewer new first-trimester patients. She cites CDC all-cause mortality higher in babies whose mothers were vaccinated in pregnancy, plus a surge in preeclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage—including the first hysterectomy of her career after twins.

The pregnancy schedule, she warns, is stacking: flu, Tdap, Covid, RSV, now Hep B in pregnancy and a Group B strep shot in development. VAERS pregnancy-loss reports spiked in 2021; a smaller bump at Tdap/H1N1. Public health, she argues, had signals in the Pfizer pregnancy exclusions, a ~12% trial loss rate, and V-safe—and should have stopped the train.

Dr. Joe Varon (Independent Medical Alliance, formerly FLCCC) at the 2026 Polyface Retreat. A city doctor who says he is “allergic to farms” talks about who actually owns your medical decisions.

He covers the right to try—ivermectin and HCQ during Covid, Texas Medical Board hearings, a 4% hospital mortality versus 25–40% nationally, and cancer patients whose oncologists (including at MD Anderson) refuse alternatives and fire them for using them. One 34-year-old with breast cancer chose ivermectin and marijuana; eight months later the tumor was gone on PET.

Second: drug shortages as a national security issue. As of June 2026, 227 drugs are short—including salt-and-water IV fluids. Two U.S. plants make them; one Baxter plant (60% of supply) flooded after Helene. Shortages raise length of stay, cost, and mortality. Pharma would rather sell $11,000 biologics than $1.50 saline.
