Brownstone Supper Club Philadelphia! July 11, 2024 – Amy Wax
July 11 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$50.00July 11 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm $50.00
Brownstone is thrilled to announce its fourth monthly Supper Club in Philadelphia!
We are very excited to introduce our community to this month’s guest, American legal scholar and neurologist Amy Wax. She is the Robert Mundheim Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Her work addresses issues in social welfare law and policy, as well as the relationship of the family, the workplace, and labor markets.
At Supper Club Philadelphia, Professor Wax will discuss Penn’s case against her with as much detail as she can, the problems in our K-12 education system, and the general tide of censorship and corruption that is sweeping nearly all of the academy.
Our venue, the festive Las Bugambilias in Philadelphia’s famous Old City district, offers a buffet of all-you-can-consume Mexican food, margaritas, beer, and wine — all included. Join us for a night of eating and drinking, meet Brownstone Institute friends, scholars, writers, and benefactors, and celebrate victories and discuss challenges ahead. Dress is whatever makes you happy – casual is great, fancy is also wonderful.
LOCATION & PARKING
Las Bugambilias, at 15 S. 3rd St. is near the corner of 3rd and Chestnut Sts, right off the I-95 and 676 highways.
One outdoor parking lot is immediately adjacent to the restaurant ($25) and a large indoor lot is around the corner on 4th and Chestnut Sts. ($20-30)
Street parking is usually easy to find in the evenings as well (pay at kiosks or through the MeterUp parking app).
WHERE TO STAY
In the 3-block radius around the restaurant you’ll find several 3- and 4-star hotels, with nightly rates starting as low as $89.
Apple Hostels offers affordable rooms at a location near the venue (33 Bank St). One of our guests last month stayed at the hostel and highly recommends it.
